Our kiddo Paul is heading to Washington, DC next week to participate in the National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk® on Washington. The buddy walk is an annual two-day advocacy conference that brings the Down syndrome community together to advocate for legislative priorities that impact the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families.
While at the conference, Paulie (and his family) will meet with Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer as well as Representatives Chris Collins and John Faso. He’ll be talking to our country’s leadership about inclusive education and other legislative topics facing our community.
Come back throughout the week for posts with pictures and commentary on the event. We couldn’t be prouder of Paul and every one of his peers – because we do, in fact, hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal. Go get ’em, Paulie!
